Weight loss is all about planning ahead. Once you get in the rhythm, shedding pounds will be easy.
One of the most important things you have to plan for is food. Knowing what you are going to eat ahead of time will save you anxiety, temptation and extra calories.
Once a week, book time in your schedule to plan your meals for the coming week. Make a menu plan and a grocery list. Also book time to go grocery shopping and do some food prep. When going through your meal recipes for the week, make notes of what prep needs to be done to your fresh produce. Do onions need to be chopped for tacos tomorrow night? Do beets need to be roasted for a salad later in the week? Do you need to wash lettuce to use throughout the week? If you can do these kinds of things right away, when you unload your groceries, you will really set yourself up for success. You will save yourself a lot of time cooking and putting together your meals each day if you get these smaller tasks done ahead of time. Having your healthy meals already partially prepped will make your healthy eating choices even easier. It’s much harder to choose a salad when you are hungry you and you still have to wash and prep all of your fresh produce when you have a bagel and cream cheese or a frozen pizza calling your name. Doing the prep ahead of time will also ensure that your beautiful, organic produce doesn’t rot away in your crisper (while you make cheese quesadillas in the microwave for every meal).
