In Part 1 of this series we gave you the basics to keep your child’s immune system supported as they head off to school. This post will cover those times when a little extra support may be needed.
Everyone needs a little extra support every now and then; our kids are no exception. In fact, our kids probably need more support than we do, as they are exposed to dozens and possibly hundreds of other kids every day they are at school. This is especially important at certain times of year.
During the cold and flu season (October – April) most kids could use a little immune boost. We recommend a great tasting (berry) liquid called Imu-Max. Imu-Max contains vitamin C and a standardized blend of organic Echinacea that has been clinically proven in a double blind, placebo controlled, published study to:
- Reduce the occurrence of illness by 55%
- Reduce the number of sick days 59%
- Reduce the number of upper respiratory tract infections by 50%
- Reduce ear infections by 68%
No other product that we know of has been documented to provide such amazing immune enhancing results. Most kids should take 1 tsp Imu-Max 2x/day.
If your child has a cough, whether it is wet or dry, Natranix is the best natural formula we have found. Natranix contains thyme and elderberry to soothe the throat with echinacea, sage and anise to help fight off infection. This is a blend of all-natural botanicals with no artificial colors or flavors. A typical dose is 1-2 tsp 3x/day.
If your child suffers from seasonal allergies, before you reach for an over the counter (OTC) antihistamine, try D-Hist Jr. This product provides season support for kids with allergies with a great lemon-lime flavor. It works by supporting and calming the immune system; rather than blocking the action of histamine to cover up your child’s allergies, D-Hist Jr. actually stabilizes the immune system so they don’t occur in the first place. Most children will require 2-6 chewable D-Hist Jr. tablets throughout the day.
Keep your kids healthy and happy throughout the school year by giving them the Basics every day and using the products above to provide additional support whenever needed.
