The Today show has featured real people and their real weight loss tips. Read on to see the tips and watch the Today show clip.

  • Sandra, 40 years old, lost 63 pounds
Sandra’s biggest challenge was social events. She attended lots of gatherings and parties where she faced a lot of unhealthy food choices. She turned this situation into a win-win by always bringing a healthy dish to pass as a gift to the hostess.
  • Caroline, 32 years old, lost 150 pounds
Caroline’s biggest challenge was constant snacking. She put a pair of skinny jeans in her fridge to remind herself of her goals. Using visual reminders can be very powerful. If you don’t want to put skinny jeans in your fridge, think about putting pictures up on the outside of the fridge.
  • Greg, 40 years old, lost 275 pounds
Greg was feeling very deprived when dieting. He turned his negative thinking into positive power by making a scrapbook of all the things he was going to gain from losing weight — the nice clothes he was going to wear, the new activities he would enjoy, the vacation he was going to reward himself with — instead of focusing on what you have to give up, focus on what you will gain.
  • Jen and Keith, lost 230 pounds collectively
Jen and Keith hated exercise. They experimented with different kinds of activities until they found one the both enjoyed together — hula hooping. They are actually hula hooping fitness instructors now. Not only is is great that they were able to find something that brought fun to their fitness routing, but I’m sure part of their success is also due to the fact that they have accountability in each other.

Here’s the video segment, which also shows great before and after shots of everyone:
