Mold allergies can be tough – really tough. Usually, typical over the counter and prescription allergy medications won’t help very much if mold is the issue because of the way the immune system reacts to mold.

Anybody that has mold allergies, or suspects them needs to take a number of precautions to get the upper hand when trying to eliminate them; this includes supporting the immune system on a number of levels.

First, you HAVE TO find and eliminate your exposure to mold. If you suspect your house or place of employment (or any other physical location) get away from that place for an extended period of time (at least 2-3 weeks) and see if you improve. Have a specialist come in and test for/look for mold.

Second, support the immune system. We have found a number of products that can help in this regard:

Natural D-Hist: this is one of the best products available to help calm that part of the immune system responsible for histamine release. Natural D-Hist works very well for mold allergies; typically 2 capsules 3-4 times a day for 2-4 weeks, reducing to the minimum needed to keep symptoms in check thereafter.

Sinatrol: another great immune support formula that works very well with D-Hist. Sinatrol provides botanicals and nutrients to help upregulate parts of the immune system that can identify and eliminate molds and other microbial offenders.

Ultra Potent C: Fully buffered vitamin C is a crucial part of the immune building process in order to eliminate mold allergies. The ideal is to take as much Ultra Potent C as possible; this is usually accomplished through something called a Vitamin C Calibration (contact us for more information).

Nasaline: the sinuses are the first place molds (and most other allergens) enter our bodies, so it is important to keep them flushed out. Netti pots work but we have found that the Nasaline works much, much better and is easier and more convenient to use. Use 1/2-1 tsp of non-iodized sea salt with ¼ tsp baking soda in 1 pint warm water and irrigate each nostril 4 times morning and night.

Mold allergies can be very difficult to get a handle on, but it can be done. The recommendations here are essential to get the process rolling in the right direction. Additional support may also be necessary. If you don’t find the relief you are looking for after using the above recommendations for 1-2 months, please contact us so we can help you conquer your mold allergies.
